Suave Keratin Hair Products Review & Giveaway

If you've been a reader for a while, you know I like Suave.
You can read my review of Suave Professionals Heat Protection Spray HERE.  Read my review of  Suave Dry Shampoo HERE. And HERE is my review of Suave Kids Shampoo.
Many of their products perform quite well and are a fraction of the cost of their competitors. As a stay at home mom of 4, I'm always on the lookout for great deals...always looking to stretch the dollar further than we ever thought possible. Suave helps me do that.
My latest "try out" with Suave involves their Keratin Infusion Line. If you're a longtime reader, you also know I have naturally curly hair and it frizzes like an untamed beast here in the Deep South's sweltering humidity.

In a recent effort to tame the beast, I used the Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy 30 Day Smoothing Treatment a couple of months back. While it did help deep condition my hair and it tamed the frizz factor temporarily (see the review HERE), it didn't actually straighten my hair much, if any. So, once the frizz-taming-factor wore off, I turned to Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion 30 Day Smoothing Kit.
Unlike the Organix, this one is actually supposed to straighten your hair, not just free you from frizz. It chemically alters your hair, not just deep condition it.

I went to their site and took their quiz to see if the treatment was right for me & my hair. Turns out it was a good fit. So I tried it out.

I won't give you a full run-down of the process because apparently Suave recently discontinued the 30 Day Smoothing Kit (see HERE). That's a shame because I can tell you that it worked GREAT for me and my hair. I regret that I won't be able to buy another kit in a few months when it would be safe for me to use it again. Bummer. I'm telling you, I haven't used my straightening iron YET. The pics you see below are of my hair with nothing but a blow out with a paddle brush. My hair NEVER looked like that with nothing but a blow out. I'm so pleased with the 30 Day Smoothing Treatment and want to scream because it's not available anymore.
(a few "directly after" pics, once I used the treatment, and only blow-dried)

(and a few "1 week later" pics, again just blow-dried)

(and then some "2 weeks later" pics, after only blow-drying; you can see it has puffed up a little bit)

I have loved not touching that straightening iron!
My hair feels silky and it's shiny.
Anyways, the Keratin Infusion Line IS available still, so I'll tell you a bit about it.
If you have curly or frizzy (or even unhealthy, tired or dull) hair, you probably have heard about the wonderful powers of keratin, even if you haven't tried it out yet. Keratin is supposed to basically be a super-power moisturizer that really helps fight frizz, restores shine and manageability to help you have healthier looking hair.
Within the Keratin Infusion line they offer:
DRY SHAMPOO
SMOOTHING LOWER SULFATE SHAMPOO & SMOOTHING CONDITIONER
COLOR CARE LOWER SULFATE SHAMPOO & COLOR CARE CONDITIONER
HEAT DEFENSE LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER
SMOOTH AND SHINE SERUM
You can read more about them HERE.

So, along with the 30 Day Smoothing Kit, I tried out the DRY SHAMPOO, the  SMOOTHING LOWER SULFATE SHAMPOO and SMOOTHING CONDITIONER, the HEAT DEFENSE LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER, and the SMOOTH AND SHINE SERUM. From the Suave Professionals line, I also tried out the WATERLESS FOAM SHAMPOO PUMP, and the DRY CONDITIONER SPRAY.
While I liked each one of these products and found fault with none, a few of them really stood out:
Before I used the 30 Day Smoothing Kit, I used the Waterless Foam Shampoo on my curly hair when I had "2nd Day Hair".

It was really good for freshening up my hair, giving some definition to the curls and taming the frizz. If you wear your hair wavy or curly, I recommend giving it a try. You can't really use normal "dry shampoo" on curly hair very effectively, because you can't brush it out after you spray it. Well, with this, you curly-girls are covered.
I use the Heat Defense Leave-In Conditioner after every washing, before I blow dry. My hair (despite the chemical processing) looks fabulously healthy and shiny.
I DO use this leave-in along with the Smooth And Shine Serum, so honestly I don't know whether it's one or the other, or a combination of both; but as you can see, my hair looks healthy. I even use a bit of the leave-in on my daughters' hair to combat their "summer hair". Believe it or not, we are in the pool quite often already. The chlorine is tough on their hair, so I use the leave-in to help soothe their tresses. BTW, if you use the leave-in, go small! It really doesn't take much of this and you don't want to end up with greasy looking hair, now do you? With my short hair, I only use about a pea-size amount (like the size of a pencil eraser, roughly).
