April 2014 Glossybox Unboxing

Finally!
My April Glossybox arrived today (yes, MAY 1st!).
At first I was a little bummed out when I opened it.
I just wasn't immediately thrilled with the collection.
However, after I started swatching & trying out the products, I had to upgrade my opinion.
bellapierre gloss, ciate polish, la splash primer, caldrea body wash, aqua spa body creme
Why?

First, the BellaPierre Super Gloss turned out to be awesome. The texture is so improved over most of the lipglosses I've ever tried. It's soooo good. And the color is highly wearable.

Next, the LA Splash shadow sealer/base is not at all what I expected. I've used a few eye primers and haven't been especially impressed. However, this stuff is like superglue for eyeshadow! It makes colors REALLY pop, as well as stay. And stay. And stay.

Lastly, I was shocked that I am really drawn to the unusual scent of the Caldrea Coconut Fig Body Wash. It's such a complex, unique scent. It really grew on me.

Please watch my video of the unboxing below.

I noticed you are subbed to Glossybox, Ipsy, and Birchbox. I only sub to Ipsy. Do you have a favorite box or if you love them for each for different reasons? Thanks for the info. since I maybe adding another box soon.

Its hard to pick, honestly. Here's my take: GB has more full-size stuff, but costs more. Ipsy has been fun b/c its mostly makeup, lots full size. But the brands are cheaper, less known brands. BB sends small samples, weird, non-makeup stuff, but they are higher end, well-known brands, with an occasional full size. Here's the kicker: BB has the best points system hands down, & makes the overall cost lower. Plus, I have reordered many more of the products BB has introduced me to. Holy Grail products. That's gotta be worth something.
Huh, I feel kind of opposite from you about BB VS Ipsy. I eventually cancelled both BB and Sephora Play in favor of keeping Ispy. Glossybox and Boxy Charm are the next ones I want to give a go, when I can afford to do it. I was so glad when Ipsy stopped sending me weird nail polish colors. Maybe they got the hint when I kept rating them (the polishes) with one star. Luckily, I know enough ladies that anything I come by that's not right for me, I can easily pass along. I have a strange pink or red rule for polish, and I only wear it on my toes. It's a quirk that really doesn't fit my personality.
